JABIRU J230 RE-ENGINED WITH A ROTAX 912ULS

In 2015 AAK was approached to re-engine  a Jabiru J230 LSA from Bundaberg QLD.

The work was undertaken at the AAK Factory at Taree Airport.
 The C of A was approved by Darren Barnfield, TechnicalMmanager of Recreation Aviation Australia (RAAus)

Initial and subsequent test flights produced the performance data set out below.

This has been an uncomplicated installation with significant improvements observed.
The shape and form of the original slick Jabiru cowling has been maintained with minor changes to accommodate coolers and exhaust.

Aircraft weight has been reduced by approx. 13 kg.

Reliability and fuel burn have improved

Climb performance is significantly better.

Operating temperatures  issues for oil and coolant are a thing of the past.
